DIY Baby Bib TUTORIAL with FREE baby bib PATTERN

As promised here is my TUTORIAL and my adorable baby girl, Chloe Alexa, wearing the ladybug bib I made today.

Below is my step by step tutorial. First print out your FREE pattern from my last post which also tells you the supplies you need.

STEP 1

Cut out your printed pattern and use it as a guide to cut your first cotton pc. for back of bib.
leave a 1/4 inch seam on outside of pattern.

Step 2

Now cut your pattern template in half. use the bottom half of template and cut red colored fabric for bottom half of the front of bib. Leave 1/4 inch seam around sides of bib and 1/2 inch on top.

Step 3
Use the top half of template and cut black fabric leaving the 1/2 inch seam on bottom. This is the top half of the front of bib.

You should have 3 pieces:

The back
The front (top)
The front (bottom)

 Step 4
Now pin together the front of bib. Place the bottom half on top of the top half and pin at 1/2 inch seam.
Stitch together and press open.

Step 5

Here is the front of your bib. Pressed open. Now add felt details to front of bib using colored thread.

Step 6
attatch ribbon to front of bib with pins facing down. I used 14 inches of ribbon for each tye.

Step 7
Then place the back of bib ontop of your front and pin. Leave about a 3 inch "hole" at bottom of bib and pull ribbon tyes down and out. You will stitch the bottom and top half of bib together but leave the bottom open. (so you can turn bib inside out after stitched)

Step 8

Now turn bib inside out threw hole you left at bottom of bib. Once turned right side out press.

Step 9

After you press your bib you should topstitch edges (making sure you close "hole" at bottom of bib)
